She was born September 7, 1915 in Highhouse, Fayette County, a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Rhodes Hull.
Marie was a woman of faith, a student of the Bible and a member of various church organizations. She worked as a telephone operator in Millsboro.
Her life revolved around her church and her family. She was acclaimed by her family for making the world’s best meat loaf and potato salad. And she spent many loving moments quilting with her sister and friends.
On December 24, 1934 she married James Walker Harshman, in Pitt Gas Missionary Church where she was a charter member. Walker died September 7, 1992.
Surviving is a son, Dale Harshman of Jefferson; nine grandchildren, Brent, Kirt, Dale, Jana, David, Bruce, Jeff, Bryan and Janine; fifteen great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Linda Harshman Broadwater and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Shirley Gellner; a son, Barry Harshman; a grandson, Chad Gellner; siblings, Dolly Broadwater, Charles “Ed” Hull, Lloyd Hull and Cooley Hull.
