

She was born May 19, 1923 in Rices Landing, a daughter of the late William and Louie Braden Barnes.
Her husband Raymond J. “Nick” Nichols died March 16, 1994.
In 1942 to 1943 she worked at Langley Field in Washington D.C. Mrs. Nichols had also worked as a district manager for Avon Products for 10 years. She moved to Alexandria, Virginia in 1968 and worked for 20 years in the Pentagon. She later was employed by the U. S. Postal Service until her retirement.
She returned to Rices Landing in 1998. She loved gardening and painting and enjoyed history and traveling.
Surviving are a sister, Dolores Sisler (Gilbert) of Waynesburg; a granddaughter, Naomi Lozano Munden; 2 great-grandchildren, Cheryl Lozano and Tobias Munden; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Cheryl Beatty Lozano; a grandson, Sean M. Lozano-Beatty; and siblings, William “ Boomer” Barnes, Duane Barnes, Charmaine Joyce, Verlin Barnes, and Betty Ann Barnes.
Friends will be received 4 pm to 8 pm Monday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, Supervisor, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 with Pastor Gary A. Gibson officiating followed by interment in Greene County Memorial Park.
