He was born on March 10, 1945 to James Francis Higgins and Edna Irene Sellers Higgins. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. He worked as a coal miner for many years. He enjoyed fishing and was a longtime member of Clarksville Missionary Church.
He is survived by his wife, Melody Broderick Higgins; children, John Higgins, Laura Baca, Kathy Jordan, Karen Butler, James Higgins, Kimberly Clark, and Mabel Lovelace; siblings, Frances Ruse and James Higgins; 30 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Higgins; brother, David Higgins, and his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 22 at 4 PM at Clarksville Missionary Church, 102 East Street, Clarksville, PA 15322.
