Pat was the sweetest person and a great neighbor. I will remember her endless kindness to myself and others. She is in my memories from childhood on up!
When I was about 7, my family moved just up the road, the first place I rode my bike was to visit Lesley and his mom! I even wrote a note for my mom and dad, it was after all 2 blocks away instead of 1. I knocked on the door, Pat must have known how grown up I felt and made us a snack to enjoy for my big visit. When I left she told me to visit again. When I got home I told my dad all about it. The snack, swinging high, a tree we climbed.... and I said Lesleys mom said to visit again! I guess the way I said it was serious, my dad said you can go visit Lesley and Pat. So here’s the best part, I asked my dad who was Pat, he laughed and said Lesley’s mom! That was the day I learned Lesley’s moms name.
