Robert John Folman

He was born July 16, 1944, in Waynesburg, a son of the late John and Mabel Folman.

Bob was a 1963 graduate of Beth Center High School and a 1966 graduate of California State Teachers College.

Soon after graduation Bob was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Bob was employed by the Intermediate Unit Waynesburg, where he taught special education for 30 years until his retirement.

He was a devoted Catholic and served in many capacities in the church.

Bob was a member of a band called The Thunderbirds in the 1960’s, which he had fond memories of. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews; his longtime companion Lea DeVore.

Deceased are siblings, Joseph Folman, William Folman, Charles Folman, Roseann Hess, Mary Lou Amborski, Kathryn Morford, Dorothy Scarso, and Betty Collage.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Greene County Memorial Park, 1003 Jefferson Rd., Waynesburg, PA 15370 with Fr. J. Francis Frazer officiating.
