

Vivian was born on Nov. 3, 1932 in Greensboro, Pa., a daughter of James A. and Suda Baer Black. She moved to Jefferson in 1938 and graduated from Jefferson-Morgan High School in 1950. Following graduation, she attended Pennsylvania State Univ. for one year, transferred to Waynesburg College and graduated in 1955. She then became an elementary school teacher and taught for three years in the Willoughby-Eastlake schools in Willoughby, Ohio. She then taught in Jefferson- Morgan schools for more than 35 years before retiring in 1991. She loved teaching and made the classroom exciting for her many students whom she relished.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert Pochron and by her parents. She is survived by her brothers Wilbur (Dolores) of Willoughby, Ohio, and Armour E. (Sue) of Phoenix, Arizona; also, her adored niece Amy (Jeffrey) Schapira of Scottsdale, Az. and her loving nephews Armour A. of Phoenix, Az., Jeffrey (Laura), David (Cindy) both of Willoughby, Ohio and James (Jasenka) of Cincinnati, Ohio., John ( Karen ) Pochron and Mark ( Lori ) Pochron of Rices Landing both of whom graciously assisted her in her later years.
She is also survived by her great nephews Ryan, Christopher, Jeffrey, Justin, Calvin and A. J and great nieces Stephanie, Sabrina, Catherine, Cayla, Lindsay and Abby.
Mrs. Pochron was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist church, The Green county Retired Teachers Assoc., PSEA, NEA, The Jefferson American Legion Auxiliary Post #954 and the AARP.
Friends will be received from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the Behm Funeral Homes, Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Pa. 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor.
