Barbara A. Blanchard

Barbara A. Blanchard passed away February 5, 2018 at her residence after years of suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. She was born December 19, 1943 , daughter of belated father, John T. McDonald who died in the service and belated mother, Margaret T. McCaffrey, and belated step-father, Edward T. McCaffrey who raised Barbara as his daughter.

Barbara is survived by her husband , Theodore N. Blanchard, of Jensen Beach, Florida; her son, Brian Lifford & his wife Becki of Loudonville, New York; her daughter, Joanne Carr & her husband Cliff , of Yorktown , Virginia; her son, David Lifford, of Mechanicville, New York; her stepdaughter, Bonnie Unser & husband Tim of Ballston Spa, New York; her stepson, Robert Blanchard & his wife, Jen, of Saratoga Springs, New York.

Barbara is also survived by her brother, John McDonald & wife Barbara of Palm Beach, Florida; and her sister, Maureen Zarnofsky, of Ballston Spa.

Barbara’s grandchildren include, Kelsey Carr, Kevin Carr, Andy Unser, Kevin Unser, belated Tom Unser, Ashley Blanchard, Robert Blanchard, Makenna Blanchard, Baily Lifford, and Brian Lifford. Her great grandchildren include, Gemma and Sage Unser.

Barbara’s 4 nephews include , belated Stephen McDonald, Mark Plagenza, David Plagenza, and Mike Zarnofsky.

Barbara was born in Brookline, Massachusetts and moved to Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts , then Menands, New York, before taking permanent residency on Hutchinson Island in Jensen Beach, Florida in 1991.

Barbara owned and operated Blanchard’s Gas Station in Watervliet, New York and also did the bookwork for Cramer Home Heating of Watervliet for her husband Ted. Barbara started working in Island Dunes 1 in Jensen Beach, Florida in February 2001 as Office Administrator , retiring in 2013.

In her spare time, Barbara could be found playing tennis, golf, and bridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5090 Dunn Road Fort Pierce, Florida 34981.

A Celebration Service will be held on Monday February 19, 2018 at 11 am at Aycock Funeral Home, 950 NE Jensen Beach, Boulevard Jensen Beach, Florida 34957.

A Life Celebration Service will be held up north at a later date.
