Bobby Gene Robinson, age 92 of Lewes Delaware & Jensen Beach FL, formally of Middletown De passed away on March 3, 2021 in Stuart Florida. Bobby was born in February 3, 1929 in Poplar Bluff Missouri to Hiram Russell & Mary Emily (Marshall) Robinson.
Bobby served 2 separate terms in the US Navy until 1957.
Bobby was an avid horseshoe, cornhole, bowling & poker strategist. He was affectionately known as Cornhole Bob and Bowling Bob. He also loved to read and go camping. He just plainly, Loved Life and being active. In earlier years he volunteered at the St. Georges United Methodist Church and for the Middletown Band Boosters and managed the Middletown Bowling Alley. In later years he loved volunteering at The Delaware State Grange and Delaware state Fair and volunteering in his Jensen Beach/Ocean Breeze community.
His hobbies included metal detecting, horseshoes, fishing, bowling, cornhole and poker.
He loved joking with family and friends about how warm the weather in Florida was, while some of us are in Delaware Not loving the cold winters. His kids loved joking with him about the weird and colorful outfits they had to wear growing up. He was so very much liked and loved by all who knew him. He had an uncanny ability to just start up a conversation with anyone as if they had known each other for years. He will be greatly missed.
Bobby is survived by his partner of 16 years Nancy Burbage, his children, Russell Winson of Twin Falls Idaho, Jean Elliott (Mike) North East MD, Mary Smith Newark DE, Barbara Miller (Rob) MIddletown DE, Stewart Robinson Dover DE, 18 Grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandson and his extended family Debra Dempsey SC, Brenda Jones DE and Mark Burbage VA and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Bobby Winson, brothers Russell & Roy Robinson & sister Mary Sue McDonald
