Sean and boys I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of Cathy. Know you have many people thinking of you all during this time. Cherish the many wonderful memories of her and all the good she did in the world for so many people.

I just learned about Cathy today while reading the St. Teresa’s Academy magazine.  To the Mulcahy family:  I am very sorry for your devastating loss.  Cathy impressed me at every encounter.  She was a compassionate and knowledgeable nurse and always ready to share her expertise.  She was all grace and dignity in loss and fiercely dedicated to her family.  
Cathy touched many lives and will be greatly missed, especially by you.

I had known Cathy since we worked together as young nurses. Cathy was the funniest and absolutely the smartest nurse I ever worked with and she made working even the worst nights fun. We used to laugh so much. Cathy loved her family so much and spoke of them constantly. Even though I had not seen Cathy since they moved to Florida, we texted numerous times daily and I will miss that so much! 
My condolences to Sean and her family as I know they will miss her too.

Our condolences on the passing of your mother and wife. Cathy was loved by many and made life long friends. I always loved her smile and how she always treated me with " What's going kiddo!"  May you find peace in your heart with the happiness you shared with her.

To continue, I hope that those around her remember and celebrate her brilliance.  She was always hilariously funny and witty and having her as my friend made life more joyful.  Cathy adored her grandchildren as well.  She would do anything for them that she was able to do.  I will mourn the loss of this irreplaceable friend forever.  My deepest condolences to the family that she loved who must now say goodbye to her.  May she live in your memories forever.  And now, I must release her to arms of the angels and to those who I hope were waiting with open arms to welcome her home.

It is with the most profound grief and almost unbearable sorrow that I write this.  It has taken me a long time to write because by writing it I must acknowledge that it is true.  Cathy was one of the best and closest friends I ever had or ever will have.  No one can ever replace her nor will life on this planet ever be the same without her.  I will always hear her unforgettable laughter in my head and as I continue to age and memory fades I never want to lose my memories of her or of the experiences we shared together, whether good or sorrowful.  To describe Cathy, one would have to  write a book, and believe me, due to her hilarious personality and fun antics it would be a best seller.  Of all of her attributes the most important one was her deep love of her family.  At this upcoming holiday season I will never forget the sacrifices that she made by working hours of overtime so that she could try to provide the perfect Christmases for her children.  I was there working right beside her for the same reason.  We did it year after year, always working together with each other and our peers.  We helped each other out so that cookies could get baked, holiday cooking could get done and presents could get wrapped and under the tree.  Most of us got little or no sleep, as we would go home and stay up most of the day to meet our children’s needs and to be at every event for them that we could.  Two to three hours of sleep and then back to the hospital to do it again.  Her devotion to them was evident and I heard no complaining .  She loved Sean the same way with the same deep devotion.  She worked the same way to help provide them the educational opportunities that she wanted them to have.  As a nurse she was always the smartest person in the room.  Perhaps if you had never worked beside her you wouldn’t have realized that.  She was the brightest, the quickest, the most observant and the most reliable.

Cathy, we all lost a bit of sunshine and laughter the day you passed on. My life has always been better and brighter because of you. Your unconditional love was felt by all who knew you. Prayers for Sean and your family. Rest in peace my sweet friend.

Cathy was fun to work with. She was an exceptional L&D nurse. She had your back and could handle any situation. I was always glad to have her on my team. You will be missed more than you will believe. Say hi to Christina.

Cathy was loved by many of her coworkers. We did miss her when she moved to Florida. Lots of fun memories when I worked with Cathy in labor and delivery.

Sean, this is a picture of the plaza foundation Cathy asked me to take for her.  The words you wrote about Cathy are beautiful. I loved your wife, I considered her one of my favorite people and one of two true friends I actually had. 

Last time I spoke with Cathy, she had messaged me and said she needed to talk with me, she had so much to tell me. We never had that conversation. I wonder if she was going to tell me she was ill. 

I am one of those individuals that Cathy’s life made a large impression on me. She had cared for me when I had my first baby, which that pregnancy did not go well. Prior to going to nursing school I worked at RMC in a different capacity other than an RN. I had worked there starting in 1980 and met Cathy in 1981. In 1996 I went to nursing school and worked in L/D with Cathy and the rest of the crew. 

My heart is broken for your family. Cathy will missed so very much. My heart is selfishly broken for myself as I won’t ever hear her call me “kid” again. I have the one last gift I received from Cathy sitting on top of the top of my chair. It is a wool scarf she sent me for my birthday last year.  

Gwen and my grandson are the same age. We use to talk about them and how fun this age is.  My hope for Cathy is that she has a smooth landing and was greeted with open arms by Colleen.  Sean, I want to believe there is something more than this and we will all meet again someday.  I want to believe that Cathy is with Colleen and taking care of my infant daughter Sarah. 

May Cathy’s memory always be a blessing and not forgotten.

Knowing you has been one of the biggest joys in my life. We, have laughed together and cried together for so many years. I can’t help but remember all the fun we use to have at work.  Even after you moved we stayed in touch and shared so much. I was just getting ready to order you cookies so you could hide them, just for yourself. My heart is broken for your family, particularly for Gwen. Your daily playmate, is going to miss you. My heart is broken selfishly because I will never hear you call me “kid”, again. The scarf you sent me for my birthday sits  across my chair, and it will remain there as a reminder of you. I was looking back at our past conversations in recent months. I am glad I was able to send you pictures of the plaza fountain, a small reminder of your home. I wish you were here or I was there so I could hug you one last time.  Tell you how much I love and will miss our friendship, though  long distance. I hope that your landing to the other side was a peaceful and Colleen greeted you with open arms. I love you Cathy, and for ever grateful to have been your friend.
