Charles Thomas Trowbridge III, 68, of Jensen Beach and Miami, Florida, passed away Thursday, November 23, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He left an indelible imprint upon the hearts of his family and friends, and those who knew him will forever miss his keen sense of humor, his fierce passion for “a job well done,” and his unwavering loyalty to the ones he loved.
Charlie was born on September 16, 1949, and spent his early life in North Miami, Fl. He attended Holy Family School, Pace, and graduated from North Miami High in 1967. Later, he pursued an apprenticeship with the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry and became a qualified Journeyman in 1973. Charlie received the FPL “Leadership” award in 1997, and the FPL “Pioneer” award in 2004. He was also recognized as a “Forty-Five-Year Member” of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices in 2014.
Fond of the outdoors, Charlie enjoyed a wide range of hobbies. He travelled the country, attended football games and auctions for fun, and toiled away fixing broken cars and gadgets. He spent many winters with the Salty Dog Ski Club and several summers hiking and rafting the Grand Canyon. An avid runner in younger years, Charlie devoted more than a decade of his life to training for races and marathons. He won many age group awards and was acknowledged “Runner of the Year” in 1999.

He is survived by his three sons, Charles Trowbridge IV, Eric Trowbridge, and Lance Trowbridge; his daughter, Marni Trowbridge; and his grandson, Eric Trowbridge Jr.
A memorial service and reception will be held to honor Charlie’s life at one o’clock on Sunday, December 17, 2017, and will begin at Aycock Funeral Home in Jensen Beach.
