Eugene Ralph Rathgeber
April 2, 2021
My name is John Mulvaney and although we weren't actually related, our families were very close and I referred to Mr. Eugene Rathgeber as Uncle Gene.
At my age memories are hard to come by but the most cherished ones are lasting and more vivid.
My family would travel to Florida each year to visit with the Rathgebers. One of my fondest memories is of the night that Uncle Gene, David, my dad and myself went fishing off the Jensen Beach Causeway. It was a beautiful warm night and we had a wonderful time. We came home rather late but we had some fish. That fish was cooked up right then and there and to this day, I can still say, it's the best fish I have ever eaten. I have eaten a great deal of delicious fish since then but I believe it was the company I was in and the magic of that evening that makes the fish we ate that night so special.
That cherished memory would not exist if it weren't for Uncle Gene.
Thank you Uncle Gene and know I love you.
