Frank was born on January 22, 1936 in Arnold, PA, the son of Santo and Rose Marsico. He graduated from Arnold High School and went on to study Chemistry at Westminster College. He then earned his degree in Dentistry from Temple University and served 2 years as Lieutenant in the Navy.
After the Navy, Frank, a.k.a. Dr. Wonderful, became a successful dentist that practiced family dentistry, later with an emphasis in cosmetics, into his 80s. He served as President of the DSDC organization from 1969-1971, was a faculty member of Christiana Hospital in Wilmington, and was awarded Best Dentist (2nd) award for Readers Choice by Wilmington News Journal in 2003. Frank was dedicated to helping others and volunteered his dental services in Haiti. His steady hands and cheerful demeanor put all of his patients at ease. He was well known for his joke telling skills, and had dozens of friends who considered him “like a brother”. He was a talented tennis player, golfer, and enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family. He also had a passion for cars and riding through life with the top down. His iconic 1956 T-Bird sits in the garage today.
In 1987 Frank married the love of his life, Peggy Jean, in Wilmington, DE. Frank was very proud of his three children and grandchildren. He never knew a stranger and easily made friends with everyone he met. Although life will never quite be the same without Frank’s upbeat personality, humor and advice, his knowledge and memories will be passed down for generations to come.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dave Marsico. He is survived by his wife Peggy Jean Marsico; three children Lisa Marsico Wright (Gene), Michelle Yamada, Frank M. Marsico (Hannah); four grandchildren Minami Yamada, Ichi Yamada, Franklin M. Marsico Jr., Owen Marsico; and extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, DE on June 10, 2023 at 4:00pm inside the Crystal Ballroom.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to one of his favorite places, the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center.
