Al was born in Newaygo, Michigan on August 28, 1931, to Hart and Estelle (Wisner) Laraway. His family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida when he was seven. He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1956. Al married Joanna Mann in 1958. They moved to Stuart in 1959 and opened Palm City Plumbing; during that time, he served as head of the local plumbing board. Upon retirement he and Joanna operated a candle making business.
Al was predeceased by his wife Joanna Mann Laraway. He is survived by his son Todd Laraway of Sebastian, sister Linda Burgess of Deltona, Florida, four nephews and one niece.
