Marguerite was born in Barbados, West Indies and moved to Stuart, FL 23 years ago coming from Northampton, MA. She then lived in Jensen Beach for 3 years.
She was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. Marguerite was an avid gardener. Everyone loved walking through her beautiful gardens. She enjoyed decorating her home and helping family members do the same. Mostly, however, she will be remembered for her loving, unselfish dedication and commitment to helping her family….daughters, sister, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always there for her family, often making sacrifices.
Prior to retirement, Marguerite was a teaching assistant for the prestigious Clarke School for the Deaf for 20 years in Northampton, MA. Prior to that, Marguerite was a loving wife and mother, always providing a wonderful home for her family.
Survivors include daughters, Linda Irvin of Jensen Beach, FL, Susan Novotny of Whately, MA, Nancy Coburn of Florence, MA, sister Angela Goddard of Stuart, FL, six grandchildren, Sarah, Leah, Jane, Jimmy, Lauren, Christopher, five great grandchildren Mason, Addison, Jake, Chris, and Quinn.
She was predeceased in death by her loving husband Arley James Adams and two brothers Colin Johnson and Lloyd Johnson.
A gathering of friends will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Saturday December 7, 2013 at Aycock Funeral Home, Jensen Beach, FL. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm. Following services a reception will be held at the residence of her daughter and son in law Linda and Lynn Irvin in Jensen Beach. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Northampton, MA.
