Surrounded by members of both his family begotten
in love and his faith family, we solemnly announce the
peaceful passing into Eternal Life of our precious
Mother's husband and our dearly beloved earthly
father, James Michael Molgano, 87 on Friday, October
25. Born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1926, he was
devoted to his childhood sweetheart, Theresa, for 67
years until his passing and to his daughters Kathleen
Molgano, Jo-Ann Raudebaugh and son, Reverend
Father James E. Molgano. "Poppy" also remains the
loving grandfather to Pamela Dixon, Kristen Jackson,
Jaime and Keith Steinberg, and Douglas and Jennifer
Raudebaugh and doting great-grandfather to Alyssa
Jackson, Zachary Raudebaugh, Kyle Steinberg, Kevin
Steinberg, Madison Raudebaugh, and Christopher
Riley.
Pop was predeceased by his parents James and Mary
Molgano, sisters Josephine, Katherine, and Mary, and
brothers Michael, Frank, and Richard. He is survived
by his brothers Amy Molgano, Louis (Rita) Molgano
and Samy (Marie) Molgano, as well as by numerous
nieces and nephews … most notably his Godson, the
Honorable Michael Molgano with whom he shared a
special bond of love inspired by faith.
Dad proudly served in the United States Marine Corp
during the Second World War and upon his marriage
to our Mom, they remained in Stamford, Connecticut
for 38 years before relocating to South Florida in 1984.
Shortly after his dutiful service to our country as a
Marine, Pop served his beloved city and community as
a member of the Stamford Police Department. In an
effort to become the fullest expression of himself
while utilizing his talents and gifts to the best of his
ability, Dad then went on to become an insurance
executive, realtor, credit analyst for a major financial
institution, Director of Development with a Catholic
college and the Executive Director of the Italian Center
of Stamford. Two of Dad's most shining and proudest
professional moments came when he, along with a
few others, principally brought this Community Center
from its outdated location to where it presently is
situated on nearly 30 acres of pristine real estate in
1970. As Executive Director, he ensured that the fine
people of Stamford and the surrounding area were
always provided with the most discriminating service
from one of the most renowned and prestigious alloccasion
facilities. The other significant contribution
he inspired with some members of UNICO is Columbus
Park that remains enshrined in the City of Stamford.
In addition to his ministry of bringing Joy to children
as "Santa" each and every day throughout the year
over the span of twenty plus years, Pop's greatest
happiness was found in living his faith and devotion to
Our Lord Jesus Christ and to Our Blessed Mother. Until
his physical l imi tat ions became progressively
debilitating, he was a Daily Communicant at Holy
Mass. He also faithfully prayed the Holy Rosary and
other Devotions, and spent untold hours before the
Blessed Sacrament in Eucharistic Adoration.
A Wake Service will be held on Saturday, November
2nd from 10:30am to 12:30pm at St. Martin de Porres
Catholic Church in Jensen Beach, Florida. The praying
of the Angelus and the Glorious Mysteries of the Holy
Rosary will begin at 12 noon. The Mass of Christian
Burial wi l l be celebrated at 1pm. Interment wil l
immediately follow Mass at Our Lady, Queen of Peace
Cemetery in WPB. In l ieu of flowers, his fami ly
requests donations to the "Matthew 25:35 Outreach
Ministry" of St. Martin de Porres Church
