

Jim was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Jensen Beach one month ago coming from New Port Richey, FL.
Prior to retirement Jim worked as a Lieutenant for the New York City Police Department in New York City. He served in the Army during World War II, he was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in New Port Richey, Fl, Jim was a member of Knights of Columbus in New York City, he was a member of Retired Lieutenants Association in New York City Police Department, Lieutenants Benevolent Association Police Department City of NY, Superior Officer Association Retired City of New York Police Department.
Survivors include wife of 65 years Dorothy Stevens of Port St. Lucie, FL, son James Stevens his wife Andrea of Wantagh, NY, two daughters Patty Pivarnick her husband Baylor of Jim Thorpe, PA and Kathy Nevirs her husband Mark of Port St. Lucie, FL, four grandchildren, Christopher, Jeffrey, Nicole, and Matthew and two great grandchildren, Lucas and Hunter.

Visitation will be held at Aycock Funeral Home in Jensen Beach, FL on Wednesday March 26, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00PM and 6:00 to 8:00PM, with prayer service at 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, FL. Entombment will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, FL.
