

Jean A. Hutchinson was born in Newark, Ohio on October 21, 1927 to William and Cecelia Hutchinson. She passed away on March 9, 2021. Her education included a BA in physical education from Bowling Green State University, a Masters degree in counseling from Barry University in Miami, FL and a specialist in counseling from Nova University in Miami. She coached many sports while teaching in the Miami school system for over 40 years, retiring in 1985. She moved to Jensen Beach in 1999. Jean loved her family and always welcomed them into her home. She was kind, considerate, and would always make sure her guests had plenty of activities while visiting, especially the kids. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to play card games, was very competitive, and usually won. Once Jean settled in Jensen Beach, she became involved in many community activities. She was active with the Chamber of Commerce and served 2 terms as President of the Jensen Beach Kiwanis Club. During that term, she successfully wrote a grant request for new local playground near the causeway. Jean is survived by her longtime friend Marianne Fitzgerald, her brother Joe, and 4 nieces and a nephew.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jean’s honor to St Jude’s Hospital for Children in Memphis, TN or to the Treasure Coast Hospice at 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL. A mass will be held on Friday, April 30th at 10:30 AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church located at 2555 NE Savannah Rd, Jensen Beach. A luncheon reception will be held immediately following the mass at Aycock Funeral Home located at 950 NE Jensen Beach Blvd.
