Joan Krumbholz, a beloved woman (daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend), was called home to Heaven by God in her mid-eighties, on Thursday, January 24, 2019, in Port St. Lucie, Florida, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in New York, Joan and her husband, LeRoy Krumbholz raised their family on Long Island and moved to Florida in 1989. Joan was a special woman who positively touched each and every life she was a part of. Joan had the innate ability to make each of her relatives and friends feel โ€œspecialโ€. Her Catholic faith was very important to her. Joan always had an eye for fashion and loved to shop. She was passionate about reading (having read well over a thousand books during her lifetime) and jigsaw puzzles. Joan enjoyed being with her family and sitting on her back porch observing nature and wildlife, especially the birds and alligators in the canal. Yes, she loved her coffee and cigarettes up until the very end. Joan is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy of 47 years at his time of death, grandson Matthew, and sister, Margie). Survivors include her beloved sons, retired Master Sergeant LeRoy Krumbholz (Dorothy) of San Antonio, Texas; Steven Krumbholz (Meg) of Port St. Lucie, Florida; William Krumbholz (Kathy) of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and daughter, Karen Krumbholz of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Joan is also survived by her beloved sisters, Lorraine, Barbara, Linda; brothers Herbie and Roger. Joan was loved so very much by her beloved grandchildren Roy, Danny, Andrew, Steven, Nicole, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Briann, and Michael; and 8 beautiful great-grandchildren. Joan was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The memories are boundless, but the last 20 years they focused mostly on your back porch, where you made everyone feel wanted and important.
We enjoyed the spirited conversations about politics. Because we were always on the same page. that porch was a special place for tom and I. I remember you always taking care of me when I was little and singing songs to me. even when I drove you crazy fighting with your boys. there are few people in our lives that truly love you . and I always felt that from you. so my dear sister rest in piece. love you so much. You asked me to make your service nice. I felt your presence and IT WAS BEAUTIFUL; just as you were on earth and now are in heaven. I love you so much, and although you took a piece of my heart to heaven, I promise you, I will continue the love that you had for everyone in my heart and my life will be wonderful just like you wished for me. I love you so much mom! I know you were proud of your grandchildren! (I heard you when you whispered to hug Kaitlyn, I heard you when you whispered to let Briann finish as the young adult she is, and I heard you when you whispered to reach my hand to Michael who was being so stoic). I know you were with everyone there and those that could not be there! I promise to relay your message to the world...... seize the day and take a step back and enjoy each day to smell the flowers because it is a Wonderful World! (I also noticed where you wanted the photos to end....LOL! My beautiful mom now and for always!)

Rest in peace my beautiful Mom! I love you!

Love always,

We have so many great memories - I can't pick just one. We always laughed together - like when we went to Hurricane's and the peacock on the sidewalk scared you! We always had fun together - like when we would go shopping and pick out clothes for each other. We always bonded over our similarities - like our passion for reading and our love to gossip. I miss you so much, more and more every day. I love you so so much, and I know I will see you again.
Love, Kate
