John was predeceased by his father, Adolph Radesky, and his mother, Laura Dziadul, and his nephew Edward Radesky, Jr. He leaves behind loved ones including his wife, Leeann Avellino, eight siblings, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
John was born on January 16, 1951, in Hartford, Connecticut and spent his formative years on a turkey farm and later in Strasburg, Pennsylvania on a dairy farm.
He graduated from Franklin and Marshall college in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1973 with a degree in Physics.
He began his career as a software engineer in Hartford, Connecticut. He attended graduate school at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and earned an MS in Computer Science in 1977. John met the love of his life and his perfect match, Leeann, while attending graduate school. They were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in East Islip, New York on July 29, 1978.
Upon moving to the Dallas, Texas area, they worked as software engineers and progressed into management in the computer industry.
In 1980 they built their dream home on 40 acres in Gunter, Texas where they eventually raised and showed horses while maintaining their careers in the Dallas area. They also devoted time to mentoring Gunter High School students in the Robotics program. John found joy in sharing his knowledge and expertise. In 2017 they retired to Hutchinson Island, Florida.
John’s varied interests included running marathons, becoming an airplane pilot, scuba diving, penning children’s books, and being a student of history. John along with his wife enjoyed frequent traveling to locales far and wide, annual snow skiing, and regular visits to their families in Pennsylvania and New York.
We are saddened by our loss but are comforted that he is now in heaven with our Father. John was the kindest man you could ever meet. He was very intelligent, a diligent worker, considerate of others, very giving, and had a remarkable sense of humor. He was calm and easy going and loved by all!
We have many fond memories to cherish in our hearts. He was a devout man who shared Jesus’ love through his generous words and actions.
