Louise “Pete” Colburn, 95, died October 22, 2011 at her home in Jensen Beach, FL. She was born in Easton, MD and grew up at Mecklenburg Farm, now home of the Elks Lodge. She came to Jensen Beach in 1987 from Oxford, MD.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Church in Oxford and Oxford fire companies Ladies Auxiliary.
She worked side by side with her late husband Bill as owner of a small general grocery store, Colburn’s Market, now the Oxford Museum.
Survivors include her daughter Dorothy Reyes of Jensen Beach, FL, Jane Kenton and her husband Bud of Cordova, MD; 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph William Colburn.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Oxford, MD.
