Pauline Peterson

Pauline Rose Peterson (nee Taccarino) 9/16/1922 of Jensen Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at Emerald Health Care at 3:30 a.m. on 12/2/2016. Pauline was the second oldest daughter of Anthony and Anna (Maresca) Taccarino's eight children. Pauline was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Clarence Peterson Jr. (12/31/1999). Together they owned Peterson's Café, later Peterson's Tavern, in Cape May Court House, NJ for 24 years. They retired to Jensen Beach in 1978.

She was also predeceased by her daughter, Geraldine "Gerry" Downes (11/22/2000); brothers Ferdinand "Taccy," Anthony, Louis, John, Frank and sister, Mary Palladino. She is survived by her sister Florence "Floss" Dungan of Ocean City, NJ; son Bill Peterson (Penny Bovender) of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Douglas Downes (Gayle) of Ramona, CA and David Downes (Jennifer) of Adelaide, Australia; three great grandchildren, Tonya, Laura, and Daniel Downes; two great-great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.

Her family wishes to thank lifelong friends, the Gibsons, from Cape May Court House, NJ for their love and support throughout the years; special friends Martha and Paul Hunter; Rob Bullwinkle and Rachael.

Per her wishes, her ashes will be scattered in the North Carolina mountains.
