

peacefully on November 25, 2025. Born on March 10, 1954, in Newton, Massachusetts, Peter was the son of Fred A. Mudgett and Joan Calkin. As a young man Peter moved from Massachusetts, to Chicago, Illinois and then to Rye, New York where he graduated from Rye Neck High School in 1972. He was an athlete who wrestled, played baseball, basketball, and most importantly football, which brought him immense joy. Peter graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park and spent his life as a chef and manager in several restaurants in Connecticut and Florida. He spent over thirty years working as the General Manager and Vice President of Operations with Conchy Joes, Inc. (Conchy Joes Jensen Beach, Conchy Joe’s Melbourne, and the Dolphin Bar and Shrimp House) under the ownership of Frederick Ayers. His love for the restaurant business and his work ethic were unparalleled.
Peter will be remembered by his family and friends for his generous spirit, his kindness, his great sense of humor, his extraordinary culinary skills and his love for the Miami Dolphins. His greatest joy was his daughter Kate, his wife Debbie, his son-in-law Arnell and being GrandDad to Ollie and Bene. He cherished his time with his sister Jane, his brother David and his large extended families. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.Peter is survived by his loving family: spouse, Deborah Anderson; daughter Katharine Charlotte Mudgett Lexima (Arnell Lexima); grandsons, Oliver Michael Lexima and Benedict Gabriel Lexima; siblings, David Mudgett (Anne Mudgett), Jane Mudgett (Sam Peled) and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Calkin; father, Fred Mudgett.
A memorial Mass will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 2555 NE Savannah Road, Jensen Beach. A celebration of life will follow at 12:00 PM (Details forthcoming) . Interment will take place in the summer 2026 in Bemus Point, NY.
