I just can't believe that my 'big' brother has been gone a year.  I miss you so, so much.  Love you.

I remember your dad showing us how to clean a green turtle! I remember your wedding! I remember the hundred or so fishing trips we went on. I had some great times with Bob (and Carolyn). I always knew when when he called and wanted to go fishing he had a new boat....the man had more boats in his life time than anyone I knew. The best memory was that Bob was a kind and good man and a very good friend.

We were honored to have known you and attend your service.  You have a beautiful family and should be very proud of them.

I did not know Bob well, but it was obvious to me in the few times that we were all together that he loved Carolyn deeply, fishing and traveling. He made the most out of everyday and leaves behind a lot of good memories and laughter.

Dear Carolyn,
You and I go back a long, long way.  It doesn't seem possible that you could have lost Robert so soon.  My heart goes out to all of you.  Our visit in September was wonderful, and I am so thankful that you made it to Maine.
Please know that my thoughts will be with all of you tomorrow especially, and that I am keeping you in my prayers.

Who would have thought May 2, 1996 you would have met your future daughter in law.  We have shared and made some special memories since I have came into the Hicks family! Starting with us sitting on the sidelines cheering Jason's soccer team on, to going to Olive Garden after a tournament and me being asked if I wanted a coloring book at the age of 15, you never laughed so hard!  I loved being on the boat as "the top bird watcher".  There is one fishing trip I will still argue that I never ate those three sandwhiches you claimed!  I have so many great memories to cherish and to share with my children.  So from time to time please watch down on us, as you will forever be in our hearts.

To Jason and family,

Please accept our most heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your loved one. Though we did not know Robert personally, it is quite evident that he was a man of integrity, honor and good humor to have raised such a fine man as Jason, a son who, no doubt, was a source of great pride for him. May the love of your family and friends and your cherished memories guide you through this difficult time and give you strength.

Uncle Bobby,
I'm so thankful I was able to spend time with both you and Aunt Carolyn during your Alaska trip. You have always been an amazing person and Uncle and I will never forget you! My first memory of you is being chased around your pool, still in diapers, with you threatening to throw me in. Fishing off the dock in the Keys with you and Uncle Wayne is one of my favorite memories. I am so, so thankful we were able to sit down and talk about the things we did when you were in town, that you were able to meet Paul and give him a hard time, like I warned him you would :) I love you so much Uncle Bobby, I am so glad you are no longer suffering. Forever in my heart!

We have known Robert a very long time and know he will be missed greatly. When we needed help moving, he showed up. Robert always knew how to get things done quickly and right. Another thing you always knew, Robert was going to tease you about something and you couldn't help but go away smling. Carolyn, it was good to see you and know we are here for you. Hold on to all those memories and share them with each other. You two have created a wonderful family.  You will be in our thoughts and prayers on Thursday

I remember calling Greens Insurance years ago asking for "Bobby" and the girl said you must be family hold on.
 
I will also never forget the day I got married - before you carried my dad out to take him home and put him in bed you gave me a huge hug and said "you are like the daughter I never had - love you girl"
 
No matter where I am when I see Conk on the menu I immediately think of you - NO ONE could cook Conk the way you could !
 
To this day when I go to pop my kids toes they ALWAYS say do it like Bobby does it - no worries we will keep that tradition going.

Robert, you were a fun-loving guy and I sure am glad we went on those 2 road trips when we did. Also, all I know about fish, I learned from you.

There are many memories I have of my brother Bobby yes he will always be Bobby to me. Years ago there was a bass tournament on Lake Istapoga we were very close at the weigh in he beat me by a few ounces, he was so proud I think he even had the big bass mounted. There was the time the big snook were in the river we bought bait found the spot got the boat anchored for the whole night boy was it dark we sat there all night never got a bite, Memories are all that will get me through this, but the one that means the most has nothing to do with fishing. Years ago I went through a rough patch in my life, had no place to go no place to sleep Bobby took me in never asked for anything never judged never critized anything, that to me is brotherly love. For the people that know me call your sister your brother and make a memory, it will last a lifetime, Bobby I will always Love you and my kids,grandkids and greatkids will know who you were and what a great brother you were.

Robert was a good friend. I fondly recall the many good experiences we shared together in the years we worked the marine construction business ... Then in the years after. He truly enjoyed life to the fullest, and loved a rum & coke while fishing on his boat. I will miss him.

Bob, I got the news today and was very saddened by it. Who would of thought we would be in business together and I sell Carolyn a Sony stereo system.
I remember you coming back to the store the next day and saying what a good looking girl she was and you were going to ask her for a date.
I would have to say that it was a date that lasted 38 years.
Very few people in todays life can say that they had a wonderful wife that was
very precious, and you two were meant for each other.
I thought about you a lot and I will miss you.
Both Linda and I love you and are glad that you have peace now.

I was very sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts and loving support of your neighbors at River Club are with your family at this time of sorrow.

To one of the two best brother-in-laws a guy could have. I still remember the first time I met you, you asked me if I got my nose from the same place I got my feet.  So glad that we all got to do the cruise to Alaska. My fondest memory is when you yelled bye ya'll in your deep southern drawl to those people as they stood on the dock watching the cruise ship pull away. Love you like a brother and miss you forever.

I meant what I said 38 years ago with all my heart.We've had a wonderful life together-yes with obstacles along the way,but it has all made us stronger in our love for each other.You have been my friend,my partner,my soulmate.We used to finish each other's sentences,we knew each other so well.I have done things with you,taken trips,and seen places I never would have without your help.You tought me to enjoy your passion for fishing and yes,even to bait my own hook and get the fish off myself.We've had a lot of fun together and I will cherish those memories forever.You are my warrior-I admire you so much for the fight you fought this past year and I know you did it for me and your family.You can be proud of a job well done.I have become stronger because of you.Now I take what I said 38years ago one step further-I will love you forever,not just until "death do us part".I miss you so much.

Don't think of him as gone away -- his journey's just begum.  Life holds so many facets, this earth is only one. Bob Robert, I wish you hadn't excluded your friends from this past year. I will cherish the memories from high school, Ragatz VW, DeSears Appliances, fishing with you on the TimeBanditGoFish...even tho I got  seasick, and on and on. You will be missed!
