OBITUARY

Victor SIMONSEN

February 7, 1936January 17, 2021

Victor “Vic” Simonsen passed away on January 17th after a brief illness. Vic was predeceased by his parents, Viggo and Dagmar Simonsen and his sister Diane. He was raised in Chicago and spent his summers on the lakes of Wisconsin. Vic served our country in Vietnam - and a total of 17 years in the Army with the rank of Major. He was a Rotarian and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a faithful member of Palm City Presbyterian Church. Vic had 35 years of continuous sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous - helping others to recover and build better lives. Vic's smile and sly sense of humor endeared him to many friend's throughout his life. He leaves behind his beloved cousin Anita Clark and many friend’s from all walks of life. He found friendships at Knox College, the U. S. Army, Stuart - Sunshine Rotary, Palm City Presbyterian Church, the lakes of Wisconsin and the rooms of Alcoholic Anonymous. A funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday January 30th, 2021 at Palm City Presbyterian Church. A procession to All Saints Cemetery, Jensen Beach, will follow the service with a tribute by a military honor guard. A celebration of life will be held later when a wonderful, laughter filled, gathering can be held safely in his honor. We believe Vic would want any donations to be made in his honor to be sent to Palm City Presbyterian Church, Martin County Intergroup or the House of Hope.

"Frequent contact with newcomers and with each other is the bright spot of our lives."

Vic demonstrated that so well and made others feel the same. He will be greatly missed.
