

Charles Arthur Burrows passed on June 24, 2026, at the age of 53. Born on December 1, 1972, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to his parents, Linda Bishop Burrows and William Burrows, whom preceded him in death. Charles lived in Jonesborough, Tennessee, supported by Enhanced Support Services. He lived with his housemates, Kristie and Barbara with whom he shared a special bond.
Charles attended Dawn of Hope and graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School. He loved music and singing and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Johnson City, Tennessee, where he also sang in the choir. His favorite music to listen to was gospel music and the Beach Boys. Charles enjoyed trips to the beach with his mom and special friend, Kay Jones.
He was very active in his community, attending many dances and proms at Grace Fellowship Church. Charles worked many years at the Hot Dog Hut in Gray, Tennessee, where he greeted customers and was a great support to the staff. Charles retired January 3rd, 2022. He knew very few strangers, and could identify people by the cars they drove.
Charles is survived by his uncle, Tom Bishop and his wife Nancy; his aunt, Barbara Knisley; his cousins, Celeste Arrowood and husband Kenny, Eric Bishop and wife Charlotte, Sammy Blalock, Robert Blalock and wife Lori, Michael Blalock and wife Monica; and special friends, Kay Jones, Karen Harrison, and Chad Kilgore.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and support Charles enjoyed while in the care of ESS, especially Megan Crawford, who directed his care with love.
Visitation for Charles will be held at Monte Vista Funeral Home on Saturday, June 27, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A graveside committal service, officiated by Pastor Jim Chatman, will be held at Washington County Memory Gardens on Monday, June 29, at 11:00 a.m.
