Cynthia Elaine “Cyndie” Estep, age 58, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 6, 2025. She was born on October 17, 1966, in Garland, Texas. Cyndie lived a life full of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Cyndie was the beloved wife of Anthony Wayne Estep for 34 wonderful years. Together, they celebrated their milestones with unwavering devotion, including their 40th dating anniversary on September 29, 2024, and their wedding anniversary on December 29, 2024. Their bond was a testament to enduring love through life’s many trials and triumphs.
She was a devoted mother to her daughter and best friend, Madison Elaine Albright, and found immense joy in being “Nonnie” to her three treasured grandchildren: Lawson (7), Leighton (5), and Leah (4). Her grandchildren were her greatest blessings, and she relished every moment spent with them. Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, held a special place in her heart as the backdrop for countless family vacations and cherished memories spanning generations.
Cyndie dedicated 19 years to Johnson City Schools, with the last 16 spent as a special education assistant at Towne Acres Elementary School. She touched the lives of hundreds of children with her kindness and unwavering commitment. To her colleagues and students alike, she was a source of inspiration and care.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony; her daughter and son-in-law, Madison and Matthew Albright; her grandchildren, Lawson, Leighton, and Leah; her parents, Robert Small (and stepmother, Diane Small), and Elizabeth Roper; her siblings, Michelle Denson, Debbie Wagner, and Robbie Small; and her immediate nieces and nephews, Tiffany Harless, Steffany Akers, Charlsea Cagle, Andrew Estep, and Hunter Estep.
Cyndie’s legacy of love and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she held dear.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dan Foster officiating. A Private Committal Service and Interment will be held in Section H at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
