Dannie "Dan" Lee Summerfield believes in the Lord as his Savior. On June 27th, 2026, Jesus called Dan home to spend eternity with him. Dan was truly a testament to loving his wife as himself (Ephesians 5:28) and as Christ loved the church. (Ephesians 5:25)
He was a kind and gentle soul, respected by all who knew him and loved by many.
With every breath I take, I do and will always miss him deeply. For the past 26 years, he was my beloved husband and dearest companion- a bond that only Christ could establish as the head of our home.
Due to health issues, Dan was no longer able to attend Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church in Erwin, Tennessee, in person. I continued attending, while he faithfully watched the services online. Afterward, we would talk about the message together.
Dan was a dad of five children and a brother of one sister, Shirley Hansel. He also had many grand and great-grandchildren.
At a young age, Dan joined the Navy and faithfully served our country for 24 years, retiring as an E-9 Master Chief. Though his earthly accomplishments were many, the one that mattered most was his salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
From his first breath of life on October 16th, 1938 to his entrance into eternal life on June 27th, 2026.
Services for Dan Summerfield will be scheduled with full military honors at Mountain Home National Cemetery on a date in the near future. That information will be updated as soon as it is finalized. Monte Vista Funeral Home and Memorial Park are honored to care for this American hero and his family during this difficult time.
