David Lee Skeen, age 73, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at The Waters of Johnson City. He was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, a son of the late Hobert Joshua Skeen and Ruth Opal Walker Skeen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Blackburn Skeen; and two brothers, Tim Skeen and Mark Skeen.
David worked alongside his father and brothers at Townhouse Improvements where he was a craftsman. He enjoyed truck driving out west, riding motorcycles, playing guitars, camping, fishing and hiking.
He is survived by one son, Benjamin Skeen; one special daughter, Natalie Newton; one sister and brother-in-law, Martha Carmichael and husband Jerry; one sister-in-law, Susan Skeen; one nephew, Cody Skeen (Kyrrah); four nieces; several great nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Tommy Staten.
A Private Committal Service and Interment will be held in Section I at Monte Vista Memorial Park with his brother-in-law, Jerry Carmichael officiating. Pallbearers will be Cody Skeen, Andy Hicks, Andy Hicks, II, Jackson Hicks, Susan Skeen, and Katie Hicks. Honorary pallbearer will be Jerry Carmichael.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and The Waters of Johnson City for all the love and care that was shown.
