So sorry to hear of Dave's passing away. I worked with him and Linda at TCIndustries. Always seemed so nice and willing to give you a ride up to the building in the gocart in the rain.

I was so saddened to hear about Dave.  We worked at Vermeer in Pella for many years and were good friends as well as coworkers.  He was a great guy!  My sympathy to his daughter, siblings and friend.

I'm proud to say David VanDyke was my cousin, although I had nothing to do with bringing about that fact. When I reconnected with David after decades, I came full circle with the last of the VanDyke siblings I'd known since childhood.

What a man he'd become. Courageous, charismatic yet humble, responsible, and so kind to my aging parents that I instantly warmed to him.

If you know the VanDyke siblings, what a tight, loyal band they are. The motto, "All for one, and one for all," truly typified this band of four. How lucky  Dani, Linda, and Randy were to have one of the best big brothers ever, a man born to shoulder responsibility and smile while doing so.

To whoever in the family posted the picture of David on this site, thanks sincerely! It captures so much about him, including his strength, his character, and his gentleness.

I wept today, looking at his picture. Not because I was so close to him, I wasn't.The tears just snuck up on me, I didn't even realize they were there for a while. I wept because the picture captured his qualities so perfectly, and I cannot imagine how those closest to him, his siblings, and his sweetheart, Linda, can be feeling anything but heartache. To all of you, know that the Farwick cousins have you in our hearts and minds.

I have long been impressed by the shortest verse in the Bible, "Jesus wept." No platitudes about a better place -- it wasn't the right time -- just his tears, shared with, perhaps even falling on those he loved. There is indeed a time to weep, to share your sorrow and your tears.

I don't know much about such things, but I hope for David's sake that there are dogs and motorcycles in Heaven. I mean, there's got to be dogs, right!? And maybe, instead of Harley Davidsons, they have Heavenly Davidsons?

Regardless, God Speed, David. The world was a better place with you in it. You are, and will be remembered.

Chris and I are saddened to hear that Uncle Dave has passed. Chris looked up to Dave and had shared interest in motorcycles and like Dave, Chris joined the military. Our love to all the family. ❤️
