With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of George Thomas Feathers, who departed this life on April 24, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on March 8, 1956, in Mesa, Arizona. George was the beloved son of George Mitchell Feathers and Iris May Goodchild Feathers.
Though he later resided in Huntsville, Alabama, Johnson City, TN always held a special place in his heart. As a member of Central Freewill Baptist Church, he lived his life guided by quiet faith, steady devotion, and a deep love for his family and friends. George enjoyed playing cards and doing puzzles. He was sometimes known at the “Rummy King”. Whether with family or friends, he embraced life’s simple and meaningful pleasures.
He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Mitchell (Myra) of Harvest, AL. One niece, Michelle Feathers Staggs (Wes) of Madison, AL; One nephew, Mitchell Feathers II (Alicia) of Harvest, AL. Three great nephews, Mitchell Feathers III, Zachary Feathers and Michael Staggs. One great niece, Isabella Staggs.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm – 2:00pm, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Monte Vista Funeral Home and Memorial Park located at 1900 E. Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37601, with a graveside service to follow.
