Preceded in death by her father, Geter Howell, her mother, Cora Bennett Howell, her husband of 52 years, R.B. Bawgus, her four sisters, Cleeta Painter, Kate Campbell, Eva Babb, Mayme Boyd and one brother, G.C. Howell.
Survivors include her two sons, Michael Bawgus, Roger Bawgus (Mona), three daughters, Donna Williams, Karen Broyles (Bill), Teresa Hagy (Ben), Eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. One great, great grand daughter, many nieces and nephews and special friend Brownie King.
She was a housewife and homemaker, a mother, a wonderful cook and friend to many. She also worked many jobs outside the home before retiring from Siemens after 25 years of service.
She was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church in Jonesborough, TN and had attended Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Johnson City.
Georgia loved life. She loved her family and her family loved her. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed listening to music of all kinds. Georgia loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, the LORD.

Visitation will be held at Monte Vista Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 1900 E. Oakland Ave., Johnson City, TN 37601, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. A graveside committal service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the cemetery.
