It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Iva Mae Stout, 81, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on June 1, 2026. Born on August 26, 1944, in Johnson City, Tennessee, Iva Mae was born and raised in the community she always called home.
Iva Mae wore many hats throughout her life, meeting each season with steady devotion and a faithful heart. She worked as an electronic repair person for several companies and also spent time working in a deli, approaching her work with the same care and reliability that defined how she lived. Yet of all her roles, none were held more dearly than those of mother and grandmother, callings she embraced with deep love and unwavering dedication.
A beloved wife, parent, and friend, Iva Mae was known as a generous soul who spent her life devoted to the people around her. She had a gift for making candy and took genuine joy in sharing it with everyone. And if you’ve had her chocolate gravy, you know—some flavors are unforgettable. With a spirit “like a firecracker,” she brought warmth and presence to everyday moments, leaving behind memories that will be cherished with gratitude and respect.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Helen King; her beloved husband, Lokeal Earl Stout; her daughters, Vickie L Stout and Karla Renee Stout; her brothers, Ivan King, Raymond Stanley King, Richard Allen King, Earby Lee King, and James Lester King; and her sisters, Margaret Mosier, Dorothy Oliver, Mae Ruth Lewis, Thelma Jean Cole, and Joyce Yoakley.
