Joel was a life time resident of Tennessee. He retired after more than 20 years' service with Clinchfield/CSX Railroad, as a Railroad Conductor.
Joel was preceded in death by his father, Joel Lee Bailey II, his mother, Mary Cunningham Bailey and his sister Lennis J. Bailey.
He is survived by his son
Jonathan Lee Bailey of Johnson City, TN
Joel was a devoted father.
He loved animals, the ocean, and vacations. He was a certified scuba diver.
Joel attended East Tennessee State University and University School in Johnson City, TN prior to his
tenure with the railroad.
A private memorial service for family and friends will be announced at a later date.
