June Elaine Lane, 70, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away on October 28, 2026. Born June 28, 1956, in Elizabethton, Tennessee, June was a treasured presence in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
June carried herself strength and integrity. She attended North East Tennessee Community College and earned a degree in accounting.
June was married to the late Coy Edward Lane, and she found her greatest joy in family. She enjoyed everything about raising her children, and in later years she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Affectionately known as “Granny,” June was cherished not only for her devotion, but also for the warmth and unmistakable spark she brought when playfully giving people a hard time.
June’s interests were as comforting as they were lively. She loved to read sci-fi books, along with anything else that caught her eye, and she enjoyed country music. She had an appreciation for roses and for being outside when the weather was nice. Those closest to her will smile remembering that June could be a little spicy, and she certainly “knew the range of a shoe.” Growing up, she was the peacekeeper among her five brothers, an enduring reflection of the steady heart that so often held others together.
June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Coy Edward Lane; her parents, Luther and Fronie Bowers; and her brother, Bud Ballard.
She is survived by her sons, Adam Lane (Penny), Coy Lane (Megan), and Michael Lane (Chelsea); her brothers, Wade Ballard (Carolyn), Dale Ballard (Patricia (Deceased)), and Ron Ballard (Phuong); her brother-in-law, James Edward Grisham (Mayeagle); her sister-in-law, Betty Seals (Ed Seals (Deceased)); and her special friend, Diane Carr; as well as 8 Granddaughters, 3 Grandsons, 2 Great-Granddaughters, 5 Great-Grandsons, 1 Great- Grandchild that hasn't made their appearance yet, Several Nieces, Nephews, and Numerous Friends.
