Linnie passed away at home after a lengthy illness, with her husband of 35 years at her side. She left in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Linnie was a graduate of Science Hill and attended ETSU for 2 years. Linnie held several jobs during her professional career, including teaching special needs children, branch manager of a local bank, assistant to the Washington County mayor, newsroom manager for the Johnson City Press.
She had a deep love for animals, especially her cats. There was always a house full.
Linnie loved her country and was a proud lifetime member of the Republican Party. She was involved with various charities including Tunnel to Towers, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Citizens Behind the Badge, numerous first responders and the Shriners.
Linnie was preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Texie Hamric and her beloved brother Alex Hamric.
Linnie is survived by her husband of 35 years John, her treasured granddaughter Shelton "Shelly" Abbott, son Tim, grandsons Fisher and Hunter Abbott, brothers and sisters-in-law Tom and Debbie Jennings, Marty and Julie Kilby, Suzanne Hamric and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. She was also blessed to have special friends Norma Freeman, Marsha and Toney McNalley and Susan James.
Linnie will be greatly missed.
