Michael Andrew Blevins, 70, died June 11, 2026. Born September 25, 1955, in Forsyth County, North Carolina, Michael spent his life showing steady devotion to those he loved and a kind-hearted regard for everyone he met. He resided in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Michael proudly served in the United States Air Force for two terms during peace time. He was a marksman and M-16 expert, carrying himself with quiet pride in his service and respect for duty.
For more than 25 years, Michael shared a beautiful life with his true love, Karen Lones, his soul mate and the love of his life. A dedicated and devoted family man, he cherished being present in the lives of his children and grandchildren, offering care that was consistent, thoughtful, and steadfast.
Exceptionally smart and witty, Michael had an inquisitive and creative mind, and his humor had a way of easing the day for those around him. He was also known for his year-round attire of shorts, flip flops, sunglasses, and a hat—an unmistakable signature that suited his easygoing presence. A jack of all trades and master of many, he approached life with capable hands and a generous spirit, extending kindness freely and treating others with genuine consideration.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Rebecca Blevins; his father, James Wall; his special aunt, Harriet Elizabeth Blevins; and his mother and father in law, Shirley and John Lones. He is survived by his soul mate and love of his life, Karen Lones; his son, Justin Whitehead; his daughter, Brooke Carver and husband Daniel; his grandchildren, Allana, Keily, Kaiden, and Ava; his sisters in law, Debbie Shell, Ginger Hardin and Morris Greer, Sandy Carver, and his brother in law, John Lones; his special aunt, Betty Lones; and many friends, extended family, and loved ones.
Visitation will be held at Monte Vista Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 1900 E OAKLAND AVE, Johnson City, Tennessee 37601, on June 18, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at the same location on June 18, 2026, beginning at 7:00 pm.
The family will receive friends and family following the funeral service at 154 Carden Drive, Elizabethton, Tennessee 37643 on Thursday.
A Graveside Committal Service will be held at Monte Vista Funeral Home & Memorial Park on June 19, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Whitehead, Daniel Carver, Dr Paul Benson, Dr Dharmen Patel, Dr George Winton, and Jeff Taylor FNP.
