

Nancy Jean Milligan, age 75, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025. She was born in Long Island, New York, a daughter of the late Gloria and Earl Milligan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennie Thomas; her sister, Karen Milligan; and her brother, Stephen Milligan.
Nancy was a consummate professional who dedicated 25 years of service as a secretary with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She was recognized multiple times as Employee of the Month and was known for her excellence, precision, and unwavering work ethic. Nancy was intelligent, well-educated, and thoughtful in everything she did.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, tending to her yard and flowers, and caring for her many beloved houseplants—some of which she nurtured for decades. She especially loved the color pink. Nancy was of the Baptist faith.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Stacy Gilbert; her grandchildren, Christina, Matthew, Andrew, Hannah, and James; and her sisters, Francine, Kim, Anne, Linda, Windy, Tracy, and Jodi. She will also be lovingly remembered by extended family, dear friends, and all whose lives she touched.
The family will receive friends and family on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home, a memorial service for Nancy will take place at 6:00 PM in the chapel. A Committal Service and Interment will be held in the Garden of Word at Monte Vista Memorial Park on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
