Paul C. Brummett, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Eastlake, Ohio, on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was born on February 2, 1932, in Unicoi, TN, a son of the late Samuel Nathan Brummett and Nancy Tolley Brummett. He had lived in Eastlake for more than 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel G. (Peters) Brummett on September 7, 1989; his son, Paul Brummett; his daughter, Susan Palker; and siblings, Bill, Wayne, Carl, Jenny, Mary, Robert, Helen, Virgie, Lennie and Ernest.
He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict and a Charter Member of Eastlake Baptist Church, where he served many years as a trustee. He was also a member and Past Master of Collinwood Lodge 582 F. & A.M., having recently received his 60-year membership pin, and served as a volunteer with Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief Team in New York City after September 11, 2001.
Paul also loved hunting and fishing, vegetable gardening, growing roses and irises, playing softball, umpiring, and coaching basketball in a DeMolay league.
Mr. Brummett was employed as a machine repairman at General Motors, at the former Fisher Body Division on Coit Road in Cleveland, and retired from the Parma Assembly Plant. He retired in 1988 after more than 25 years of service.
Survivors are his children, Pamela (Raymond) Brandt and James (Nancy) Brummett; grandchildren, Christine Stauffer, David Brummett, Jessica Brummett, Jenna (Dennis) Layman, Tyler (Angela) Brummett, and Emily Carlile; great-grandchildren, Austin, Paige, Ella, Jackson, Arven, Jovi, Ryleigh, Gabriella, Bella, Cooper, Judah, Eloise, Juliana, Nathan, Ariana, Jay-R and Nico; brothers, Ted (Jean) Brummett and Raymond (Clara) Brummett and sister, June Powers. He also leaves his loving companion, Julia Parker; her daughter, Jaime (Ray) Banary and their sons, Matthew, Kyle and Drew, as well as many, many nieces and nephews and their families.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM with military honors to be rendered by the American Legion Post #3/265 from Kingsport and Gate City, and members of the Army National Guard. Entombment will be held in the Hillside Mausoleum at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
