Rose Marie Niebauer, age 84, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, a daughter of the late John Meyer and Margaret Wise Meyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years John Albert Niebauer, and her sister Charlene Frederick (Pete).
She is survived by her son Eric Niebauer (Marivi), daughter Valerie Batterson (Paul) and grandsons Noah, Isaac and Gabe Batterson and Dustin and Drew Niebauer. She’s also survived by a sister Diane Stumler (David), her brother-in-law Paul Niebauer (Kathy) and sister-in-law Barbara Smith as well as multiple nephews and nieces.
Rose graduated from Holy Rosary Academy in Louisville, KY. She attended Catherine Spalding College, then later graduated from the University of Louisville and subsequently obtained her CPA license. Rose became a partner of the CPA firm Fischer, Niebauer and Reynolds. She owned two fingernail salons and was an entrepreneur, starting multiple other businesses.
Most of all, Rose was a dedicated wife and loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed by those who survived her.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 21, 2025 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11:00AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2211 E. Lakeview Drive, Johnson City, TN with Father Dustin Collins officiating. A Private Interment will be held at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, Virginia.
