Sandra Kay “Sandy” Lloyd, age 67, of Erwin passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Agape Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Johnson City. She was born in Rockwood, TN, a daughter of the late Johnny Ray “J.R.” Pogue and Pearl Cora Spurling Pogue, and lived in Harriman, TN, until moving to Erwin after marrying the love of her life, Richard H. “Rick” Lloyd, Jr. in 1984. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and her in-laws, Richard and Edna Lloyd.
Sandy worked for 25 years in food service at Unicoi County Middle School and was a member of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church in Erwin for over 40 years. Her and Rick spent many years serving the children of Evergreen Church.
She is survived by her son, Richard H. “Ricky” Lloyd, III, and wife, Lexi Doutrich, of Starkville, MS; sister, Pat Churchwell, of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Darrell Pogue, and longtime partner, Tammy King, of Unicoi; brother-in-law, David Lloyd of Erwin; nieces and nephews, Joni Mantooth, Tré Mantooth (Misty), Rodney Pogue, and Kim Pogue (Terry); 5 great-nieces; and 2 great-nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Agape Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center and Amedisys Hospice for their care over the past few months.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church, 910 Hoback Street, Erwin, TN. Memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor Noah Taylor officiating. Committal Service will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Erwin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Unicoi County Animal Shelter, 185 N. Industrial Dr., Erwin, TN 37650.
