Shannon Stacey de Mare, age 52, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a daughter of Hammie Randolph Smith and Betty Heape Smith. She was preceded in death by her father; and one son, Shane Sherwood de Mare.
Shannon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Johnson City. She was a housewife and loved crafting.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Shawn de Mare; four children, Shawn Warren de Mare, Jr., Olivia Madeleine Weikel and husband Corbin, Dawson Mitchell de Mare, and Victoria Rose de Mare; her mother, Betty Smith; one brother and sister-in-law, Landis Randolph Smith and wife Anela; two sisters and brother-in-laws, Debi Scaturro and husband Edward, and Amanda Chase and husband John; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Bishop Ephraim Garner officiating. Committal Service and Interment will follow in the Garden of Light at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends. After the graveside, family and friends are invited to a Celebration at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Johnson City.
