Shelby Kay Reed, age 49, of Watauga, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Johnson City, TN, a daughter of Billy Ray Campbell and Linda Kay Widner. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charlie and Renia Campbell; maternal grandfather, Hubert Widner; mother-in-law, Grace Reed; and brother-in-law, Paul Reed.
Shelby was a Cook at Town View Independent Living. She loved cats and was a huge animal lover. She loved having get togethers, spending time with her family where she will be remembered for loving to cook.
She is survived by her husband, James Reed; two children, Brandon Reed and Kelly Proffit; two grandchildren, Carter and Sophie Proffit; her mother and step father, Linda and Jamie Arnold; three sisters, Suzy South and husband Chris, Lisa Campbell and Josh Babb, and Courtney Abercrombie; two brothers, Jack Campbell and wife Lisa, and Travis Campbell and Candace Babb; grandmother, Betty Widner; father-in-law, Phil Reed; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 14, 2025 from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Committal Service and Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in the Garden of Devotion at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Evangelist Roy Reed officiating. Pallbearers will be James Reed, Brandon Reed, Jack Campbell, Travis Campbell, Jamie Arnold, Daniel Reed, and Josh Babb.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Evangelist Roy Reed for all the love and care that was shown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
