

Thomas "Tommy" James Stewart, age 55, of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2010. Thomas (Tommy) James Stewart was a talented musician and beloved son, brother and uncle. Tommy grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and later attended Mars Hill College, where he studied music, played guitar and piano. During his college years, Tom developed a lifelong love for the mountains, and spent the rest of his earthly life living in multiple locations across western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee.
Tommy was the second son of the late John Plummer Stewart, Sr. and brother to the late John Plummer Stewart, Jr. He is survived by his mother Fay McLean Stewart, cousins Kathy Williams and Debbie Buchanan, a niece Melissa Stewart and two nephews Paul and Austin Stewart.
At his Washington County (TN) residence, Tom passed away fifteen years ago (age 55). Due to a series of circumstance, Tommy remain unidentified for many years. Recently, through DNA testing and the efforts of staff at the William L. Jenkins Forensic Center (Johnson City, TN), Tommy has been reconnected to family for a proper burial. As such, the Stewart family would like to thank Laura Parsons for her efforts to facilitate this reunion. Additionally, the family would like to thank the Monte Vista Funeral Home for providing great service, respect and care.
