Yvonne Singleton, age 85, of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Johnson City, Tennessee a daughter of the late Hacker Loveless and Ada Bowers Loveless. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert “Bob” Louis Singleton; one brother, Ted Loveless; and three sisters, Buena Greenlee, Charlotte Bradley and Lillian Hopkins.
Yvonne was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, homemaker, and loved to sing and play the piano. She wrote over 30 recorded gospel songs, one of which, “I’m Going to A City” that is still sung in Southern Gospel today. She wrote beautiful poetry. Yvonne was a prayer warrior to all who knew her and a faithful supporter of Israel.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark Singleton and wife Melissa, and Robert Louis Singleton, Jr.; four grandchildren: Ryan Singleton and wife Rachael, Max Singleton, Emma Singleton, and Caroline Stedina; and three great-grandchildren: Rylan Singleton, Liam Singleton, and Elaina Valdez.
Mrs. Singleton will lie in state Friday, November 8, 2024 starting at 11:00 AM at Grace Free Will Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Curtis Hurt officiating. Committal Service and Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in the Garden of the Last Supper at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
