Don Alexander Bemus, 81, of Johnstown, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 3, 1938 in Piqua, OH, a son to the late Denton and Helen (Alexander) Bemus. Don was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from DFAS after 40 years of employment. He loved to fish and belonged to the Fly Fisherman’s Club. Don is survived by his loving wife, Jean; children, Gregg (Edith), Kirk, Randy, Jo Cassady, Cindi (Scott) Janes; grandchildren, Leala, Alyssa, Jacob, Anna, Brandi and Michelle; great-grandchildren, Ellie and Zarrah; sisters, Gretchen and Anita and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son, Michael and siblings, Dick, Bob, Steve and Diane. Honoring Don’s wishes cremation will take place. Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at CROUSE-KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the start of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Central Ohio in Don’s memory.
