
CENTERBURG: Donald Wayne Judy, 87, of Centerburg, OH passed away at his home on Thursday, May 12, 2011. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. with an 8 p.m. Masonic Service at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N Main St., Johnstown, OH. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Hamilton officiating. Interment to follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Johnstown, OH with Military Honors.
Wayne was born on March 2, 1924 in Pickerington, OH to the late John and Stella (Millar) Judy. Wayne proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the 17th Airborne Paratroopers and the 194th Glider Infantry. Wayne was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart Medal for his participation in the Battle of the Bulge. Wayne worked and enjoyed farming, while working for the United States Postal Service as a Rural Carrier. After retirement Wayne continued farming. Wayne was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and the Croton United Methodist Church.
Wayne is survived by his loving children, Mark (Joyce Drumm) Judy of Pleasantville, OH., Karl (Sherie) Judy of Centerburg, OH., Connie Julian of Johnstown, OH., Vickie (Terry) Metzner of Mt. Airy, MD.; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews and good friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi (Higgins) Judy; brothers, Dwight, Russell and John Emerson Judy; sister, Ottie May Judy; grandson, Jeffery Judy; and son-in-law, Jim Julian.
