Erma Merilee Bailey

A Funeral Service for Erma Bailey, age 90 of Johnstown, Ohio will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday February 3, 2015 at the Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 North Main St., Johnstown with Rev. Dan McLaughlin officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery.

Erma passed away Friday January 30, 2015 at Greystone Health and Rehabilitation Center of Gahanna. She was born on February 24, 1924 in Rockview, West Virginia to the late Wade and Nina Dale (Belcher) Cook. She was a long-time hostess at Howard Johnson’s in Columbus before becoming a full-time mother and grandmother. Erma dedicated her life to serving God and raising her three children. She also helped to raise her grandchildren, providing much love and guidance in their lives. She was a charter member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Johnstown, where she was an active member for more than 40 years.

Erma is preceded in death by her beloved husband Harry Bailey, son Randy, daughter Darlene, and brothers Ed and Paul Cook. She is survived by her son Lanny (Joyce) Bailey, grandchildren Lisa (Jake) Kennedy, Lori (Bob) Thurman, LeeAnn (Dan) Hyland, Brett (Monique) Roar, Matthew (Nikki) Bailey, Andrew Bailey and Amanda Joy (Sean Aube) Bailey. Great-grandchildren Jordan, Jacob, and Trevor Kennedy; Beth, Dana, and Cameron Thurman, Heath and Samantha Childers, Bradley and Taylor Roar, and Noah and Jody Bailey, her sister Lorene Hatfield and her brother Ralph (Janice) Cook.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday Feb 3, from 10:00 am until the time of the service. An online memorial will be at www.cksammons.com.
