

Fern Annette (Favill) Cordle, 82, was born March 28, 1943, the third of nine daughters to the late Ralph & Marcia Favill of Johnstown, Ohio. She lived in Johnstown, then Salt Lake City, Utah, Boise, ID, Reynoldsburg, Pataskala, and finally Columbus, Ohio. Fern enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends to many different countries. She worked at Columbus Children’s College for many years and also various clerical jobs. Her hobbies included: gardening, making jam to share with friends and family, baking apple pies and tole painting. But most of all she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her beloved husband of 62 years, Harold J. Cordle; daughters, Kelly Cordle of Columbus, Ohio, Peggy (Dave) Gilbert of Boise, Idaho; two grandsons, Tyler and Matthew (Andrea) Gilbert of Boise, Idaho; two great-granddaughters, Mickey and Ellie; siblings, Wilma Kidner of Fredericktown, Ohio, Bonnie Roberts of Dayton, Ohio, Brenda Rine of Newark, Ohio and Florine (Jeff) Hills of Newark, Ohio; many special nieces and nephews, and they know who they are. In addition to her parents, Fern is also preceded in death by her siblings, Anna Norburg, Donna Smith, Janette Baker and Wanda Pettit. Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025 at CROUSE-KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Wiseman and Pastor Jason Cordle officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Summit Station United Methodist Church, 6626 Summit Rd. SW, Pataskala, OH 43062 in Fern’s memory.
