

Frances Jane (Good) Wester of West Jefferson died peacefully Wednesday, May 13th residing at Capri Gardens Nursing Home, Lewis Center, Ohio. She is survived by three of her four sons, their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Husband, Frank, and son Don preceded her in death in 2016 and 2026 respectively.
Frances resided in Darby Crest outside of West Jeff from 1963 until she and Frank retired to Plant City, Florida in the mid-1990s. While in West Jeff, Frank and Frances were always at the ballpark, football field, basketball court, hockey rink, band or choral concert, supporting their sons. She worked for nearly 20 years in the office of Dr. Joe Weise, DDS, in town. In retirement, she was very active as Vice-President of her local golf association and joined the bowling league. She and Frank were energetic ballroom dancers, entering contests on occasional cruises or local venues. They enjoyed minor league baseball, thoroughbred racing, and trips to casinos in Florida and Las Vegas.
Frances was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, was raised by her “Mamaw” in Marietta, Ohio, and had four siblings, all who preceded her in death. As a young adult living in Columbus, Ohio, her first job was at the old Neil House hotel downtown. She met Frank in Columbus, Ohio, eloped to Liberty, Indiana, and returned to life in Central Ohio.
Her three surviving sons are The Rev. Eric Wester (Paula), Jacksonville, Florida, David Wester (Marcia) Avon, Indiana, and Bob Wester (Kara) Galena, Ohio. Don died tragically February 22, 2026. Frances has seven granddaughters: Liz Stillwell (Ryan) Browns Mills, New Jersey, Emily Wester (Ben) London, England, Heather Locke (Shawn) Seattle, Washington, Erika Ware (Matt) Indianapolis, Indiana, Taylor Delaney (Sean) Richmond, Indiana, Madison Wester Columbus, Ohio, Megan Kocher Columbus, Ohio. She has two great-granddaughters, Aubree Britton (Ware), Riley Stillwill and great-grandson Henry Delaney. These family connections were the delight of her life.
Services are Monday, June 1st at St Paul Lutheran Church, 55 Pasadena Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43228 (614) 878-4715. Family will receive visitors at 1 pm with the service beginning at 2 pm. Interment will be arranged separately for family.
