George Monroe Neibarger, 58, of Johnstown, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born on October 17, 1961 in Columbus, OH, a son to the late George and Alice (Mann) Neibarger. George was known for being the first Johnstown Johnnies Mascot and coached youth league, middle school and high school football. He was a proud teammate of the 1979 LCL Champions. George graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors. George retired from PPG after 28 years of employment. He is survived by his loving children, Jordan ( Faith) Neibarger, Janie Neibarger and Justice Neibarger; grandchildren, Mason, Bentley, Sydney and Rory; sisters, Suzan (Frank) Siegel, Geneva (Cathy Nau) Riffe and Gina Notrica; nieces, Cara (Jason), Ashleigh, Haley (Harrison), Kristina, Julia, Melanie (Andrew), Emily and Olmy (Laura). In addition to his parents, George is also preceded in death by his niece, Whitney Riffe. Honoring the family’s wishes, cremation will take place. Memorial visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at CROUSE-KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031. Private family memorial service will follow. Interment will be at Fancher Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Carmel Foundation, 6150 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH, 43213 or the Johnstown-Monroe Scoreboard Committee, 441 S. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031 in George’s memory.
